Explore the best of the land of the Incas, in a trip that will show culture, traditions, popular dressing, and life style of the Andean people. From the modern Lima we board a dream trip to Cuzco, the window to the land of the Incas. We will travel by train to Machu Picchu, hidden during centuries by dense vegetation of the cloud forest. We will enjoy one day in the sacred valley of the Incas, learning the traditions of its people and enigmatic Inca archaeological sites, as well as we will walk across the narrow streets of Cuzco's city, including the visit of the cathedral, that shows the exquisite transition of the colonial European art.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA - TRANSFER TO HOTEL

On arrival to Lima airport, you will be welcome and escorted to your hotel. The city of Lima is the capital of Peru and borders the Pacific Ocean. Is a city where people are gathered from many countries and cultures, as result we find a rich blend of cuisine, history and architecture

DAY 2: FLIGHT TO CUZCO - CUZCO CITY TOUR

You will be escorted to the airport to board our flight to the city of Cuzco, the historic capital of Peru. Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be met and accompanied to the hotel, located in the downtown. In the afternoon you will begin a visit to the most important attractions of Cuzco. You visit the Qorikancha or temple of the Sun; it is located inside the convent of Santo Domingo and shows fine Inca architecture. The Cathedral of Cuzco, which is one of the largest catholic churches in Latin America and it, is decorated with fine art pieces, being listed as a museum of colonial art. Later we will be strolled to the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which shows massive stones, some of them the size of a truck.

DAY 3: TOUR TO THE SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

You leave the hotel to a full day tour to the Sacred Valley. The inhabitants of the valley are dedicated to the cultivation of the white corn, which is the largest and sweetest in the world. Reason why Incas constructed many towns such as Pisaq, Yucay, Huchuy Qosqo and Ollantaytambo. You will start visiting the Awanacancha, where you will see the four American camelidae species (llama, alpaca, vicuna and guanaco), also learn ancient techniques used by craft weavers in the production of fine and colorful textiles made from alpaca wool. You will then visit the colorful market of Pisac, with the opportunity to photograph and negotiate our purchases with the local vendors. You drive across the valley to visit the town of Ollantaytambo, where you visit the archaeological site and its 200 stairs, which lead you to the top of the hill to visit the Temple of the Sun. We will also visit the nowadays town, which shows original Inca urban planning and visit the home of a local family, where we will have the opportunity to see how is the lifestyle of some families in the valley.

DAY 4: ROUND TRIP TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU

You board the train to Machu Picchu. This train journey is one of the best in Peru; you will go across valleys, canyons, ecological zones, rainfall levels and a great variety of geological formations. On arrival at Aguas Calientes train station, you board our bus to Machu Picchu, which lies on top of the mountain and 25 minutes away from town. Upon your arrival in Machu Picchu Inca city, our guide will give you a tour around it. After lunch you may return to the ruins, before boarding the bus to Aguas Calientes, where the train is waiting to take you to Cuzco. On arrival in Cuzco train station, you will be accompanied to your hotel.

DAY 5: FLIGHT TO LIMA

You'll have the morning free to explore Cuzco on your own; in the afternoon you will be escorted to the airport to board our flight to Lima.
