Peru… in the most literal sense, is a mountain biker’s paradise… !!!
Because of the increase of visitors to Peru, adventure sports have become very popular. Today, in the Cusco area, people practice mountain biking, especially downhill riding, due to the topography of this region. The Sacred Valley of the Incas (Ollantaytambo), is also where the Mega-Balanche competition takes place every year. This competition is sponsored by Red-Bull and is the most daring downhill competition in the Peruvian Andes.
The terrain of Cusco provides the opportunity to enjoy mountain biking. Riders are able to view incredible sites along pre Inca trails, while covering dirt zigzagging roads around Andean lakes and wetlands, Inca archaeological sites, picturesque villages, and salt pans. It is possible to ride through many different ecological levels in just a few minutes.
Because of the diversity encountered, riders will experience the dream of a lifetime.
