The Cartagena house was an important Inca construction, which was modified during the colonial era to become the house of the entrusted Don Fernando Cartagena and Santa Cruz, a member of the court of the Viceroy Blasco Nuñez de Vela, which inherited its name. Called today Casa Cartagena, has been declared as an important cultural monument by the National Institute of Culture of Peru.
